At Altecnic, we have developed a vast range of solutions that work to control the flow, temperature and safety of water, heating and cooling for commercial and domestic buildings.
Thermostatic mixing valves (also known as blending valves,TMVs or simply mixing valves) are used to maintain the domestic hot water supplied to the user, at a constant and safe temperature.
The MX range of valves c/w isolation valve, check valve and test port strainers. The MX valves have been designed specifically for use with our range of thermostatic mixing valves.
The Altecnic TMV range covers use with hot and cold water, with inlet pressures of up to 14 bar, maximum inlet temperatures of 85°C, and temperature controls of +/-2°C.
Why use a TMV?
In domestic settings, TMVs are particularly important where young children and the elderly are present. Typically, people in these demographics are at particular risk of life-threatening scalds due to a potential lack of mobility and skin sensitivity. Fitting can be a legal requirement.
The primary feature of a TMV is that it offers additional safety via a thermal shutdown mechanism. In the event of a disruption to the hot or cold water supply to the valve, the failsafe design shuts off the mixed water flow automatically.
