Solar Plus Expansion Vessels

As with any sealed system, the pumped circulation solar system has to have an expansion capability to cope with fluid expanding as the temperature increases. Also in the solar system, the expansion vessel diaphragm has to have the ability to work within higher temperatures than that expected of a standard heating vessel. Altecnic Solar Plus vessels and eres solar vessels have been designed to function in high temperature solar installations. System fluid capacity dictates what size vessel is used, though most domestic applications require a capacity of between 18 Ltrs and 24 Ltrs.

Install in conjunction with the Altecnic expansion vessel kit. This kit includes a wall fixing bracket and a self closing system isolation valve (so that the vessel could be removed for maintenance without draining the fluid from the system). A pre-formed stainless steel flexible is also provided to connect the vessel to the system at the connection point provided on the Altecnic Solar Pump and Control Station.

Intermediate vessels are also being used more frequently now. These vessels are inlet/outlet connection, and are installed before the main expansion vessel. The heat sink that the intermediate vessel provides reduces the working temperature at the diaphragm, and so extends the working life of the expansion vessel considerably.

Eres Solar Expansion Vessels

The eres solar series of products is specifically designed for use in primary circuit solar systems. In these systems the heating fluid of the primary circuit contains glycol as an additive and operates at high temperatures.

For use in closed solar energy heating systems according to DIN 4757 and EN 12977. Inside the vessel there is a special solar membrane structured as a diaphragm membrane that separates the air from the solar liquid.
