The Solar Ball Valve is used as an isolation device for the Altecnic Solar Automatic Air Vent. Usually being installed at the highest point in the system, near or next to the collector, means that the valve is in the area of the system where the most extreme temperature conditions are created. Any standard pattern ballvalve would quickly fail under these conditions.

The Altecnic solar ball valve components are all solar rated for this purpose. When required, the valve can be closed, and the automatic air vent removed, without draining down.
