DesignThe Altecnic range of Safety Relief Valves 311, 312, 313, 314, 5613 & 514 is designed for use in conjunction with heating systems and water supplies to protect the equipment and the system against damage from excessive/abnormal pressure increases. OperationThe pre-tensioned spring holds the valve closed under normal operating conditions, in adverse system conditions i.e. the build up of excessive pressure within the system the pre-tensioned spring is lifted by the system pressure. When the valve opens the diaphragm services to seperate the spring from the water and prevents leakage. When the discharge is full bore the internal design of the valve ensures the maximum discharge capacity. The valves can be manually operated by rotating the head through 90°, this action will manually raise the valve seating causing the valve to discharge. Further rotation of the head will result in the valve reseating and closing. Valve ConstructionThe valve bodies are manufactured from P-Cu Zn40 Pb2 Brass and the cap and grips are made from glass reinforced nylon (the bodies and caps of the 1" and 1.25" versions of the valves are manufactured in brass). The diaphragm and gasket is manufactured from ethylene propylene. The valve opening setting can not be altered once the unit has been through our manufacturing process and rigorous testing regime. This ensures optimum performance levels and reliability of the of the finished product. Series 311![]() Style: Diaphragm Type
